Principal/Senior Scientist Diagnostics R&D-Molecular
T2 Biosystems is disrupting the landscape of clinical diagnostics with T2MR, the Company’s proprietary magnetic biosensor detector. The T2MR technology enables healthcare professionals to save lives and reduce costs by providing sensitive, accurate, and rapid diagnostic results. The company’s products can detect molecular or immunoassay targets directly from unpurified clinical samples in hospitals, labs and physicians’ offices.We are seeking a talented and highly motivated individual to join ourResearch and Development Team.
Responsibilities:
· You will be a member of a team developing new multiplexed molecular assays on the T2Dx platform and reagents that are compatible with complex samples.
· You will be doing hands on innovative experimentaldesign, reagents development, and assay development.
Our ideal candidate will possess:
· a Ph.D. in Molecular Biology, Chemistry, or Biochemistry,
· a minimum of 8-10 years of industry experience developing molecular diagnostics assays,
· in vitro diagnostics industrial experience a plus
· excellent experimental design and data analysis skills
· experience working with gram positive and gram negative bacteria.
Your technical skills and abilities will include
· astrong background in high-sensitivity nucleic acid detection methodologies.
· expertise in PCR, rtPCR and hybridization based detection technologies.
· experience in PCR optimization, and reagents development and optimization for PCR.
· implementing appropriate statistical analyses.
In addition, you will
· have a track record for innovation.
· haveknowledge of what it takesto advance an assay from conception through commercialization.
· enjoyworking in a team-based cross-functional organization.
· be highly self-motivated, an excellent communicator, highly analytical, and
have the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and maintain focus on deliverables.
