Dr. Klibanov is the Novartis Chair Professor of Chemistry and Bioengineering at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He has published 310 scientific papers, is an inventor on over two dozen U.S. patents, and has given 370 invited lectures all over the world. Dr. Klibanov has received numerous prestigious professional awards, including election to the National Academy of Sciences and to the National Academy of Engineering of the United States. In addition, he has received the Leo Friend Award, the Ipatieff Prize, the Marvin J. Johnson Award, and the Arthur C. Cope Scholar Award from the American Chemical Society, as well as the International Enzyme Engineering Prize. Dr. Klibanov has started seven biotechnology companies and has been a scientific advisor/consultant for numerous pharmaceutical, medical device, biotechnology, and chemical companies.
