Organic Chemist

T2 Biosystems Inc., an early stage medical diagnostics company, has an immediate opening for a talented synthetic organic or medicinal chemist.  This is a unique opportunity for a highly motivated individual to get in on the "ground floor" of an exciting start-up company and work as a member of a team of scientists and engineers to develop a revolutionary approach to diagnosing important diseases more effectively and efficiently. 
 
Overview of Responsibilities:  
We seek a talented synthetic or medicinal chemist to synthesize, derivatize and purify compounds for use as bioconjugates in our in vitro diagnostic assays.  The successful individual will utilize their expertise in synthetic organic chemistry and analytical instrumentation e.g. HPLC, NMR, and MS to carry out multi-step synthesis and characterize reaction products.  

Job Requirements:  
  • BS or MS with 3 to 5 years work experience in compound analysis, method development and purification along with experience in synthetic, organic and/or peptide chemistry
  • Experience in solid-support organic chemistry, GMP/GLP testing and method transfer is desired but not required
  • Proven ability to follow and adapt protocols from literature with minimal supervision
  • Proven track record of working as a member of a multi-disciplinary team of professional
  • Demonstrated ability to creatively solve problems, learn quickly and communicate effectively
