Organic Chemist, PhD
T2 Biosystems Inc., an early stage medical diagnostics company, has an immediate opening for a talented synthetic organic or medicinal chemist. This is a unique opportunity for a highly motivated individual to get in on the "ground floor" of an exciting start-up company and work as a member of a team of scientists and engineers to develop a revolutionary approach to diagnosing important diseases more effectively and efficiently.
Overview of Responsibilities:
We seek a talented synthetic or medicinal chemist to synthesize, derivatize and purify compounds for use as bioconjugates in our in vitro diagnostic assays. The successful individual will utilize their expertise in synthetic organic chemistry and analytical instrumentation e.g. HPLC, NMR, and MS to carry out multi-step synthesis and characterize reaction products.
Job Requirements:
- PhD in Chemistry with an expertise in synthetic, organic or medicinal chemistry
- 0 to 2 years postdoc or industry experience in compound analysis, method development and purification along with synthetic, organic and/or peptide chemistry
- Experience in solid-support organic chemistry is desired but not required
- Proven track record of innovation and scientific accomplishment including publications, patents and/or presentations
- Ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team of engineers and scientists
- Creative problem solver, fast learner and effective communicator
