T2Dx Instrument – breakthrough technology enabling direct detection from whole blood
The T2Dx Instrument is a fully-automated, clinical multiplex, bench top diagnostics system capable of running tests directly from whole blood. The T2Dx Instrument utilizes T2 Magnetic Resonance (T2MR®) technology which measures how water molecules react in the presence of magnetic fields. This non-optical detection method eliminates the requirement for sample purification and analyte extraction. Eliminating these sample processing steps increases diagnostic test sensitivity and accuracy, enables a broad menu of tests to run on a single platform and greatly reduces the complexity of the consumables and the operator interface.
The tests developed on the T2Dx Instrument all have the following characteristics:
- Rapid: Species-specific results in 3-5 hours with no up-front sample preparation
- Simple: Fully automated system
- Sensitive: Limit of detection of as low as 1 CFU/mL
- Blood Matrix Compatible: No blood culture required
A simple user interface
The T2Dx Instrument contains a user-friendly touchscreen display that runs a graphical user interface. This interface provides simple graphic and text prompts to guide the operator while loading T2Candida Panels into the T2Dx Instrument, and viewing or printing results. The touchscreen also provides administrative access for T2Dx Instrument maintenance and managing results.
